DragonPilot | Comma 2 – Features and Updates

Installation is super easy:

Comma 2 can’t support internet installations anymore. You have to install it this way: https://github.com/jyoung8607/neos-manual-install

This is a manual installation for installing the Comma 2 software.

These are the old instructions that don’t work anymore:
1. Make sure your device has been reset and other software has been uninstalled: How to uninstall software from Comma 3X/3/2

2. Once your device is on the “Choose Software to Install” screen, you will click on “Custome Software (Advanced)”, Type in this install URL for the latest LegacyPilotDragonPilot: https://smiskol.com/fork/dp/r2

Updates:

  • Added Rainbow Road
  • Allow the selection for older driving models
    • We recommend using the latest driving models. However, some people still want to use the older ones. From our testing, we like the newer models available to the Comma 2/Clones better.

Legacy Pilot GitHub: https://github.com/dragonpilot-community/dragonpilot/tree/r2?tab=readme-ov-file#about

Unfortunately, the main developer ‘R God’ does not release updates/release notes of the software he works on. So the updates for this branch will be provided by us. We will be a little slow to update you guys on the latest developments as we have to install the new updates and find the differences ourselves.

Legacypilot

This software includes contributions from dragonpilot and openpilot.

About

legacypilot is a side project that enables comma.ai EON and Comma Two devices to use the dragonpilot. This project was started after comma.ai deprecated support for the EON in version 0.7.9 and for Comma Two in version 0.8.13.1, in order to provide continued access to these devices.

legacypilot combines the Nuclear Grade Model with the latest openpilot (almost) codebase to create a hybrid solution. With the legacypilot project, we have stripped out nearly 99% of the dragonpilot code.

In summary, legacypilot is based on Openpilot 0.8.16 with the latest vehicle model support from the Openpilot master branch.

Please note that this build is and will always be in the experimental phase and may not be suitable for use as a daily driver.

I recommend using the openpilot commatwo_master branch for your daily driving needs.
